A tiger in the grass – Who is GYMWAY?

A tiger in the grass – Who is GYMWAY?

Gymway Barbell is a rather obscure name in the global weightlifting and functional training arena, so we understand if you might be wondering who this company actually is. Let’s introduce you to Gymway Barbell, explain why we love them so much and have a closer look at three of their barbells we currently have on offer.

Who is GYMWAY?

Gymway Barbell Co. Ltd is a Taiwanese-based professional free-weight equipment manufacture. Although they have flown mostly under the radar for the last 30 years, Gymway has been producing high-quality functional equipment since 1985. They’ve had bars and bumper plates featured in international competitions and are among Japan’s top-selling brands.

As noted by one reviewer:

Gymway has been producing mid-range and high-performance, private-label bars for many years now; longer than most of today’s popular, USA-based manufacturers have even been in business. That is to say, the name may not ring any bells, but Gymway is not at all new to the game.

Why we choose GYMWAY

Since 2017, Gym Concepts has been flying the Gymway flag. We love this brand for the world class free-weight gym equipment they manufacture and quality service they provide. Needless to say, we jumped at the chance to partner up with them.

But why were we drawn to Gymway?

Strength: Gymway only uses premium Taiwanese steel for all their products. Gymway bars are strong, in all aspects. Just take a look at this video where the reviewer does a vertical slam test!

Precision: Each product undergoes strict testing and inspection to ensure that they deliver on their goal of manufacturing “perfect free weight equipment”. They actually have lab-verified tensile and yield strength ratings; which is why Gymway bars always tend to have very specific-looking figures associated with these two specs. Finally, Gymway bars are all manufactured, with precision, according to IWF and IPF specifications.

Versatility: Whether you are looking at Cross-training or Weightlifting, Gymway combines world-class manufacturing with versatility. These bars are strong enough to endure slow compound lifts, while able to complete thousands of explosive weightlifting reps. One Gymway bar is all you need. It is the quiver killer.

Affordability: Having mentioned that you only need one Gymway bar to get most training done, you are also able to do this at the fraction of the cost of more expensive brands like Eleiko. Gymway offers you a world-class barbell that is affordable enough to take into the home and will last you most of your life if you look after the things that matter.

So now that you know why we love Gymway barbells. Let’s take a closer look at their Cross-training Barbell, Elite Powerlifting Barbell and Elite Weightlifting Barbell.

Although it's focus may be Olympic weightlifting, the Elite Bar is strong and versatile, and can still be used as your "everything-bar". A real quiver-killer. There is literally no reason why a weightlifter (or Cross Trainer) would have to have any other barbell in their quiver, handling both Olympic and non-Olympic lifts (squat, rows, presses, etc.)

The GYMWAY Elite Weightlifting Barbell is manufactured from high-grade Taiwanese alloy steel. Its shaft is coated in matt chrome and the sleeves are chrome-plated. This dynamic barbell is a great cost-effective option for athletes that want to take their weightlifting to the next level.
